When you create an account, we store the username you choose and a securely hashed credential — we never see or store your password in plain text. As you play, we store your game progress (your base, discovered birds, scores, and items) so it follows you across devices.
Accounts are managed by Amazon Cognito and game progress is stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. A copy of your progress is also cached in your browser's local storage so the game works offline; clearing your browser data removes that local copy.
Birdz shows ads served by Google AdSense on public pages. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads, and may use them to personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read more in Google's advertising policies. Apart from advertising cookies, Birdz itself sets no tracking cookies and uses no third-party analytics.
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with anyone except the service providers named above, and only as needed to run the game. We don't collect your precise location: if you use "detect my location" during base setup, the coordinates are used in your browser to pick a habitat and are stored only as part of your own game progress.
You can stop playing at any time. If you'd like your account and stored progress deleted, contact us and we'll remove them.
Birdz is a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond the username they choose.
